Online Teaching and Conferencing Using

ABSTRACT

Network EducationWare (NEW) is a suite of open source software from multiple developers that has been implementd and enhanced by the GMU C4I Center. NEW allows students to attend class via the Internet, either as it is being presented (synchronously) or via automatic recordings (asynchronously). NEW has been used in dozens of courses at GMU and can be used to earn the MS in CS completely online, with minimal extra preparation by the instructor. It also is used as conferencing infrastructure in research projects. This seminar will repeat a workshop recently presented by invitation at an international conference.
