Science & Technology II building, Room 320

ABSTRACT

As part of ESRI's ongoing development of tradecraft support in the Intelligence Community, this exercise explores a number of techniques, workflows, and processes that can help the geospatial intelligence analyst better utilize the ArcGIS 9.2 platform. More specifically, the briefing exercise presentation will cover a number of topics, including:

  • Use of open and commercial data sources
  • Publishing geoprocessing tradecraft analysis results
  • Integrating many available clients (ArcGIS and Google Earth) in an open collaborative environment
  • Understanding and analysis of data collection programs
  • Open source geospatial search tools
  • Geospatial workflow techniques (Job Tracking Extension for ArcGIS)
  • Geospatial analysis methods
  • Server technologies (ArcGIS and Image Server) to complement the Desktop analyst

The briefing will illustrate these concepts using a recent project to analyze and understand an unusual series of complexes. In this project, analysts (using only open and commercial source information), will attempt to interpret the purpose and use of these facilities.

The focus of this briefing is to illustrate geospatial analysis workflow and analytical technique. The briefing does not purport to provide a complete and accurate interpretation of the facilities.
